It 's a good read. I agree with most of the points the annonymous player is making. I felt the same way when the proposal came out. Fundamentally this reallignment did not make sense.

Oh the wonders of anonymity, not that the reasons aren't valid but the media can no longer distinguish between being able to print one persons opinion vs the official stance of an organization. I really wish there were better ways to get information from one side to the other so people could brainstorm instead of seize on small ledges as they climb up a mountain just so they can get knocked off it.

Thanks for posting. Re-alignment needs to happen, but the current league plan was not the right way to do it. There was a simple solution that the league just didn't want to do for some reason. All they had to do was shuffle four teams around and be done with it. Instead they tried to blow it all up and do something that made it worse.

Like I suspected Herr Bettman just tried to force it down peoples throats. And for those of you who will bash the player for remaining anonymous, well, opinions are not tolerated from the rank and file, so coming out on record with this explanation would have long lasting repurcussions. I think the concerns are all valid and expressed fairly matter-of-fact. The most galling thing is that the NHL would not discuss. And then they are going to claim 'unreasonable' behavior on the part of the union. Hello pot...emergency call from the kettle...

Gary Bettman ready to meet with union on new contract - ESPN

'oh, we've been ready...we were just waiting for the NHLPA...'(paraphrased)

What a crock. Way to NOT even bargain to bargain in good faith there Gary. And while you are spinning the news make sure you tell everyone that you had every intention of avoiding a work stoppage because you really care about the fans. I hope you have constant explosive diarrhea you pisspot little clown.
