Devils didn't get one in 95.

Neither did the Spurs or Heat on the NBA side.

Why? The cup is won in the post season. They still have to go through 4 7 game series (including the best of the opposite conference). If a team can't make the playoffs in 48 games they don't deserve to be there.

Depends. If the Kings won again, it would kind of just solidify the fact that they're the best team in hockey since they won the year before. If another team won, maybe. And I'm not just saying that cuz it's the Kings. Same could have been said if the Rangers won in '95.

Length of schedule matters. It's much more difficult to win the cup after an 82 game season than it is after 48 games. The season is always referred to as a marathon but this year is more of a sprint.
