Im pretty sure i heard somewhere that if ownership got its way the Manitoba Moose would be moved to St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and be renamed so the NHL team could be named the Manitoba Moose.

Last I heard on HNIC Radio, they are going to be the Falcons, named after a historic Winnipeg team that represented Canada in the Olympics.

Uhh **** I am down with that...as long as their jerseys are similar to this

I'm telling you. All this whining I'm already seeing from the people of Winnipeg after they just got NHL hockey back and before the name has even been decided on almost makes me hope they lose their team again.
Jets > Falcons >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Moose
Just call them the Manitoba Moose Knuckles, and be done with it already.
Name them the Manitoba Who Gives a ****.
Gotta love Wikipedia. I saw the same listing when I searched for hockey teams from Winnipeg/Manitoba.
The story about getting the season tickets sold in 4 minutes said that they had plenty of takers from folks who might commute up to 2 hours one-way to go to games. That makes me think they might cultivate a Manitoba-based image.
Here's a sudden thought: What about the Winnipeg Avco's? In the WHA the Jets won the most Avco Cups and were the last to win it before the league folded into the NHL.
