Whenever I go to STAPLES and I see all the Minneapolis Lakers stuff hanging on the wall I always think it's total bull****.

I feel like claiming the accomplishments of a team from when it operated in a different city is the height of "front runnerism" and being a "poseur".

The question I've been asking people is this...

IF the Kings actually did move to a different city (let's say... Portland) one day... and then years later you were visiting that city.... and you saw some Portland Kings fan walking around with a Gretzky jersey on talking about the rich history of his team.... wouldn't you want to punch him in the back of the head???

If the Kings moved and the Habs moved to LA and called themselves the Kings, would you be ok with them retiring the original Kings' jerseys? Would you even be ok with them calling themselves the Kings?
