I almost wish his father still posted here so I could give him **** about beating his own kid.

Well, he did create the monster.
Patrick was never blasted by our coaching staff. There were a few reasons. First it makes him nearly impossible to trade if he comes up on the radar like a asteriod about to smack into another organization.
Secondly and I saw this in person, everyone really tried to work with the guy. I remember watching at a game as he was ear tugged by one of the assistant coaches and shrugged them off. This was early in the season and Patrick gave that look of "I know I know".
Patrick has 2nd or 3rd line talent, that if paired with the right attitude would produce a 40 point career for a very long time. Unfortunately the kid has lost his marbles and thinks that he is entitled (mentioned by another poster).
Patricks lack of maturity was what we replaced with Williams. The skills are similar with Willy having more experience in the big show. I don't think that Patrick was ever a malignant cancer spreading his bad vibes in the locker room, he was more of a benign cancer, rotting away in some obscure part of the locker room waiting to be removed, and eventually he was.
He should take a year off and go do some soul searching with tibetan monks or travel down the amazon or go to a third world country so that he can return humble and contribute to the NHL.
