Every matchup in the West in the first round of the post-season is going to be a slugfest. I am excited but I pray each night that the Ducks will not be a serious threat to go deep in these playoffs, even though those hopes almost always seem to disappoint me. (Big thanks to the Devils in 2003, the Oil in 2006, the Stars in 2008, and the Wings in 2009. Also, a big **** you to the Wild of 2007, the Canucks of 2007, the Wings of 2007, and the Senators of 2007. If you catch my drift you know what I am talking about.)

I think this is entirely likely, the Wings are a bit of a paper tiger right now.

Their wins the past month have been vs:
Edm, St. L, Wsh, Cbus, Toronto

While losing versus:
Ana, SJ, Phx, LA, Nsh, Pitt, Van, Chi

I know all teams go through runs like this, but they aren't exactly setting the world on fire against real competition of late.

GO BOSTON!! GO CANUCKS (I hate saying that!!) and Go Yotes?? It makes sense to get Dallas out of it, but at the same time it would be nice to see the Kings finish ahead of the Yotes...but, for goodness sake, no 3 points in that one!!

i'm rooting for dallas in this one. IN REGULATION. i want dallas to make it instead of chicago, plus i want to move ahead of phoenix into 4th.

That was a complete turnaround in 2nd. 1st it was looking like Hawks playing a winning game.
