I'm going to the T-Birds game Friday night against Spokane.
In fact, I'm singing the national anthem.
It should be a fun night.

A group of us is also going to see the Tips and Vancouver next Wednesday.

I went to see the T-Birds & Tips last Friday.
It was brutal for the T-Birds but a great night for the Tips.
    I wrote about it:
WHL: 'Tips take T-Birds, 4-0 at Comcast Arena - Blogger KING Sports
Warning: I write my game recaps from a fan's perspective, so you get EVERYTHING that happens at the game, not just the game itself.

I'm going to the T-Birds/Portland game tomorrow (Saturday) night, then staying to see the Microsoft Celebrity challenge to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
Going again Sunday to ShoWare to see the T-Birds take on the Silvertips.

I've been a ticket holder for 4 years, and love the new Showare center. the celebrity game is nothing special, but definitely a fun event and for a great cause.

Well, another King could be joining us very soon, depending on the trade deadline, Mr. Oscar Moller. I have heard this from a friend on the T-birds team. Can't say names, but my GF sister is a puck slut and has been dating one of the players for a while.

Showare center has been the best thing for the T-Birds, and we've only lost a few games at home since moving in, and have beaten Van. (best WHL team besides calgary) twice in the last two weeks. Key arena was absolutely a terrible place to place. I do gotta say that the Tips/Birds Rivalry is pretty good, but I am originally from Spokane and grew up there. Nothing beatst the Tri/Spok. rivalries and the old Portland/spok. rivalries when both teams were competing for cups.

Possibly adding Oscar to the mix could be a deadly weapon. But, we'll see. We need that extra Off. weapon, as our def. is pretty solid, but Off. is a bit weak with losing Hollway to Manchester this year, and a other few key guys. Still should be an exciting playoffs, as we'll be matched up with either Kelowna or Spokane. Also, young Calvin Pickard (brother of Chet Pickard/Nash. prospect/Tri goalie) has pretty much taken over as starter in his first season in the Dub. Pretty great kid, talented, and very mature for a 16 year old goalie. Should be another Pickard going in the first round in next year's draft.

    LOVE ShoWare Center!

Re: Oscar Moller, I've heard that the Kings were supposed to make a decision yesterday. I hope he does come spend some time with the T-Birds- it would really give the team a boost.

Re: Calvin Pickard. I agree with you about his talent and maturity. I just interviewed him and he is so well-spoken, it's hard to believe he's just 16 years old.
