yes, with 2 games left in the season I finally became a member of LGK. I've enjoyed the site throughout the year and I think it was my melancholy mood with the season ending that prompted me to join.
Actually, my two favorite players were traded this year: Conroy and Avery. I didn't and don't think Conroy was a GREAT player, I just liked him (more so last year) as a leader and all around good guy. And those blue eyes helped as well. As for Avery, well, we refer to him in our family as the "little ball of hate". He was like a gnat buzzing around the ice. Such great entertainment and passion. But I understand that passion was more like poison in the locker room. I'm glad to see that both players have moved on to successful teams and are playing well.
I'm not a season ticket holder but have managed to make it to several games this season. It's hard to make the weekday games at Staples with traffic from OC, so usually we would attend weekend games. We went to all the Kings vs. Quacks games at Honda. Always a great series!
We're thinking about making the trip to London in the Fall. As an FYI, I called the agency yesterday about where the seats are. They can not be more specific other than "lower bowl". I told them they are going to get lots of phone calls about that and they should be able to tell the people that are spending thousands of dollars to go where they will be sitting. I hope they figure that out.
If anyone else is going or planning on going, keep in touch! I think this would be a blast. We are also huge soccer fans (LA Galaxy season tickets) and plan to catch a "futbol" game while in London as well. Anyone up for Man U or Arsenal?
Oh, the last funny thing, I bought my son a JMFJ shirt to wear to Saturday's game. We told him the MF stands for "my favorite". So Jack is now known as "Jack, my favorite, Johnson"!
