    Default Islanders fan here..

But don't worry, I come in peace.

I'm planning a trip to California which involves stopping by Los Angeles. The huge hockey fan in me can't resist a chance to catch guys like Brown, Kopitar and O'Sullivan live.

I plan on going to the game on January 8th (I believe against the Ducks), and I came here seeking an answer regarding parking for Kings games:

Being a college student, I don't have much $$ to throw around - especially on high parking charges (if it's anything like Nassau Coliseum on Long Island). I know for the Coliseum that there are plenty of public parking lots (Hofstra University, and Nassau Community College) where I can park for free and walk to the Coliseum across the street. Is there a similar situation in LA?

    Any suggestions would help considerably.

Finally, I just thought I'd update you guys on a former Kings' prospect - Jeff Tambellini. 99% of Isles fans hate him. :P

I was always a big fan of Trottier, Bossy, and Gillies.

Try to stay in a place near the MTA Blue Line or Green Line. The Blue Line lets you off two blocks from Staples.

If you drive, you can park for as little as $7 if you go far enough north on Figueroa.

PArking will range from $5 - $20 depending on which lot you get to. Just wanted to say hi to a fellow Isles fan. Used to live in Long Beach, NY.

Ok here is my favorite spot to park. As long as nothing big is going at the Convention Center the price here is usually $7.00. It is the S/E corner of Flower St. and Pico Bl. It is only one block east of the Stapler. Also there are several $10.00 lots on the east side Figueroa St about 1 block south of the Stapler.

Have a great time at the game. Whenever the Mrs. and I travel abroad to watch Hockey I usually ask questions on the home team's message board so I am glad to help out.
