Thread: Long-time Kings fan...new member!

Hey fellow Kings fanatics! I just registered with the forum today but have been a Kings fan for quite some time.

I was born in NYC but moved to LA in 2002. Grew up a NYR fan but always liked the Kings...especially, the jerseys

In August 1988, I was going to work in NYC & heard on the radio that the Great One had been traded to LA...that's when my allegiance switched from NYR to LA, for good!!

My first Kings game was in 1991, when I was visiting LA on vacation & my cousin got me tix for a Kings-NJD game at the Forum...on my b-day, no less!! Still, remember the score...4-2, KINGS

1993 was an incredible run...with a gloomy ending, in losing the Cup to the Habs! When Gretzky was traded & the team started falling, must admit that I lost a bit of interest but the last couple of years have been pretty amazing. Went to my first ever Kings playoff game last April...unfortunately, it was the one we got eliminated in. But it was a great learning experience & I see only great things for this team NOW!

My favorite players are Dustin Brown, Drew Doughty...with the exception of the Olympics in February, LOL...and Jonathan Quick!! Those are my top three but I like the WHOLE team & looking forward to a great 2010-11 season! It's already been great...having beaten those Sedin sisters & the Canucks, TWICE
