Minnesota Kings Fan saying Hello
Hi Everyone -- here's my introduction story:
Grew up a Die-Hard Minnesota North Stars fan and had my heart ripped out when that bastard Norm Green moved them to Dallas.
After that it was all Kings for me - mostly due to Gretzky and Kurri. All time Favorite NHLer was the very underrated American born Neal Broten (thus the Nickname, 'Brotsy'). Neal won at every level including High School and College Championships, an Olympic Gold Medal and has his named etched on the Stanley Cup. He even wore a Kings Jersey briefly in the twilight of his Career but that was not very memorable.
Lived in SoCal for 6 years after getting out of the Service (the old Forum was one of my first stops after being a Civilian again but moved back to Minny before Staples was complete).
Currently am raising three Daughters (all of which are big Kings Fans much to the chagrin of their friends). My middle daughter says that she has a dream (which I share) of one day seeing the Kings play @Staples Center. We had Center Ice row 12 at the last Kings/Wild game this year and even though LA didn't pull off the Win it was awesome to see them in person.
To all Kings fans out there -- treasure the good times and don't take anything for granted.
Love this team -- Go Kings Go!
