Thread: New Hockey Fan

Hello everyone! I registered here in May after seeing my good friend, LGK member KingsNate, visit this board all the time when he'd come over to my house. But I didn't post until now since I didn't quite know what to say.

I have always been a sports fan, but I never "got" hockey. Earlier this year, however, through KingsNate and NHL 08, I started to learn how the game worked and appreciate it. I watched a lot of the playoffs and then I got my own copy of NHL 08 and went through a couple Kings seasons.

So now, I'm a fan. I've watched both regular season games so far and intend to watch many more as I watch this exciting young team develop into what could be something great. Also, KingsNate has season tickets for the Ontario Reign and I will be going to some games (and hopefully a Kings game or two) with him.

About me... I'm a 24 year old guy from central Illinois who relocated to Moreno Valley, California, in December 2006. I love sports of course, video games, music (listening and playing on my guitar), reading, and just hanging out, I guess.

I've been reading the forums and I'm happy to now be an active participant. I'll probably lurk/read more than post until I become more educated about the team and the sport, but I'm glad to be here.

What type of music do you play/listen to and what kind of guitar(s) do you have?

I have 2 guitars right now- a black Harmony Strat copy I got when I was 11, and a black Epiphone SG. I listen to a variety of different styles of music, but rock is my main thing. I know that's a very generic term, but I listen to a lot of different stuff.

Some of my favorite bands are The Doors, Green Day, Metallica, Augustana (personal bias since I know 2 members), Mindless Self Indulgence, Wilco, The White Stripes, Tool, Led Zeppelin, Coheed & Cambria, Pearl Jame, RHCP, and The Allman Brothers Band.
