Okay, I'll finally do it.
Hi all! I made my first post in the GDT earlier today after JW's magnificent last-minute goal. We won't discuss what happened afterwards.
Anyway, I've been a lurker here for...quite a while, I guess. Well over a year now. I just never feel like I have anything interesting to add to the conversations. I'm just not negative enough about every little mistake to fit in here :).
I've been a Kings fan as long as I've been a hockey fan, which is to say since ~2006. Basketball was always the sport of choice in my household, so I wasn't exposed to anything else until I went to college, where I made friends with a rabid hockey fan who really got me into watching regularly. Since I was born in LA and my family is from there, I went with the Kings, even though my favorite player was with the Penguins at the time.
Who was (and still is) my favorite player, you ask? Why, none other than Rob Scuderi, who is the only professional athlete who has the same last name as me. Given how uncommon the name is, it is very likely we're related, especially since he's from the same region of New York that my original Scuderi ancestors first settled. You can imagine how ecstatic I was when he came to the Kings right after winning the cup in '09.
I now live in Hawaii, which is great for many reasons, one of which is that we get the Bob & Jim Fox Sports West feed on TV since we're somehow in the LA area. I've also found plenty of other hockey fans here, though some have made unfortunate choices: two Sharks fans, a Ducks fan, a Rags fan, and a Leafs fan.
So, thanks for being a great, entertaining bunch of people. I'll try to contribute more in the future.
