Old friend returning to LGK
Think the last time I was on LGK was in 2001.
So, what brings me back?
The "rumor" that the Kings are to be Raiders on Ice again next year.
/dry heave
The Kings are PURPLE and GOLD, period, end o' discussion.
The current home/roads are okay: love the updated crown and the purple. The black can go but it is clearly a compromise edition imho.
To go fulltime Raiders, trendy, depth depraved, unoriginal, fall down drunk back to a tiny era of Kings hockey is ridiculous.
You didn't see the Lakers gut purple and gold when they signed Shaq. They didn't re-invent themselves by going trendy Raiders on the hardwood. Nope, they stayed true to form.
Gretzky is gone, super saturated black&silver is over done and looks horrible against white ice.
The vintage 67-68's are beautiful on TV and in-person, look great against the white ice, are original in the NHL and who the Kings are.
Bad enough there's still no Cup, but to go soft and fall back on Raider colors AGAIN is a disgrace.

Wow. I kind of liked the Chevy logo jerseys. I guess I'm in the minority. I do like the vintage ones but only the forum blue. I don't even want to see it in the yellow again.

I think I first started reading LGK in 2000, hiding in the shadows under some random user name that I have since forgotten, but I remember reading your posts and liking them a lot, so good to have you back!!

I not only don't like the Chevy logo, but the MLB home plate logo is equally bad.
Plus, dur, I don't need to see "LA," do you? Do our opponents need to be "reminded" who they are playing? I think not. A city abbreviation or acronym on the chest doth not a team logo make.
Unless you're the Yankees.
The marketting double left-brained Einsteins have this horribly wrong. You don't go back to an old syrupy color scheme (that just happens to look messy against white ice and bad on television).
You stick with the updated crown and stop re-inventing yourself once every 4 or 5 years.
You know you're in trouble when you almost have as many uniform changes and logo revisions as years played in a sport. This is getting to be a sad tale of "pin the tail on the identity."
