Awesome about the equipment! I can definitely bring those...

As for work, I'm currently an assistant/associate (weird combo, I know) for a production company here in Montreal. Through that, I'm more or less learning the ropes as far as the finance side of the business goes while also being a part of the creative process (and the decisions that come with it). We had our first feature come out in theaters here last month with two more in post-production and a few more in the pipeline (including some projects that I myself am driving). In all honesty, I could go on and on about this job since it's so different making movies here than in the US. In a nutshell, it's frustrating and there's barely any money to be made as a producer (which is my goal).

I also co-founded another company with a friend of mine who has an extensive background in VFX as a senior compositor. He's been making the switch to director over the past two years and now he has two of the biggest ad agencies here fighting over him for exclusivity as far as commercials go. Together (him as a director and me as a producer), we've got a couple of potential music videos coming up, although a lot of them are for Quebec bands that you would've never heard of.

I'm about to open up my own company for my pet projects, but we'll see. I'm taking it slow since I'm so busy with other stuff right now (on the edge of having 100% of the financing for a $5mil period piece!).

If anyone feels like chatting about our respective careers and whatnot (since I don't really feel like sharing too much on a public board), I'd be more than happy to chat in private!

Wow, where in NDG!? It's where I currently live. Just got an apartment in that newly rebuilt complex on Wilson Avenue (corner Upper Lachine)...

I love it. A hot Canadian who's smart. The offseason is long and boring usually. This could make things interesting. CougarRuely might have some competition.

welcome, I went on a road trip to follow the Kings a few years back and Montreal was my favorite- there fans are real loud and the city was fun to walk around at night even in the snowing conditions

That's really cool. I'd love to do a road trip like that and follow a team for a set period of time. I know that there's a guy who accomplished seeing a game in each and every of the league's arenas in slightly more than a month and he too really liked Montreal.

I fully understand that it must seem great for an "outsider" but I guess I'm somewhat used to it by now. I'd actually love to experience an NHL arena that either has less noise in general or noise for a team I actually like (ie, not the Habs)!
