I'm Dave, tho most call me DC. I thought I already had an account here, but never really logged-on much so I'm starting over.
I've been a Kings fan since I was about 10 years old or so (WAYY back in the late '70s), when my Pop used to flip-channels during his Lakers games. Unfortunately for him, he passed the Kings game on KHJ channel 9. I forced him to turn it on, and a self-made hockey fan/player was born! He took me to my first game in '82 (Yep; I still have the stubs!).
After that, I started playing roller-hocker with friends out on our street and helped start-up the Santa Ana league on an un-used tennis court. I started playing ice around '90 at the now-defunct Costa Mesa ice rink. I played a couple of games for Orange Coast College when they needed subs. Now I play in the LEAF league at the Rinks in Anaheim. I've been lucky to play post-games at the old Forum, Honda Center, Long Beach Arena, and Staples Center (with some alumni-Kings).
Away from the rink, I love playing/watching other sports. I play baseball on Sundays, beach water polo in summer, golf, and am a World Cup Freak! (Go USA! #IBelieve !). I'm a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist in swimming (at the World Police/Fire Games. Our relay team set the Record for the 4x50M in Quebec back in '05, and I won the 50M free last August in Belfast, Ireland). I'm a lifelong Angels fan, but tolerate the Dodgers a lot better now (I love watching Puig have fun playing the game). I played drums in a few bands through College, including with some of the guys from "Rule 62"/"Cadillac Tramps" (now, I just "air-drum" down the road while driving Big-White).
For those that tweet, I started a Twitter for our baseball team (but it's basically mine with all kinds of links). Check out @lbangelbaseball if you're so-inclined.
As far as the Kings go, I never thought I'd see them win the Cup once let alone twice! I hope this is the start of our Dynasty! See you in the rooms.
