Stults and Vargas both struggled big time again today. Looks like the 5th starter job may be down to McDonald and Milton?
LA Dodgers IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Stults 2.1 3 4 4 3 2 1 12.96
Vargas, C 1.0 4 4 4 0 0 2 8.22
Or just ****in sign Pedro.
Signing Pedro would send McDonald to the pen, where I'd like to see him start off his career...
Another 3 scoreless innings from McDonald yesterday, the 5th starter position should be his, main competition for him could be Stults. I'm having a bad feeling if Stults has a decent outing, Torre will opt for the vet and hand him the position.
Also, Lindblom will follow Stults on Sunday, he's been impressing so far, and if that continues on Sunday he could make the ball club and pitch out of the pen. Big power arm with good stuff, would like for him to be given the opportunity over some crusty vet.
Anyone else been out to see any spring training games out at the new facility in AZ? Thoughts?
I was out there last weekend and saw some games at both the Dodgers and Angels stadiums. To tell you the truth I was a little disappointed in the new Dodger diggs. Although the Dodger's facility is state of the art, something's definitely missing... like any shades of Dodger blue, and more importantly Dodger dogs. The Angels on the otherhand have their logos everywhere and the big red helmet in front. The only Dodger logo at their place is on the video scoreboard, and that is against a brown background. The whole place is decorated in shades of brown. Go to the concession stands and they serve Chicago dogs! Ironically, the Angels serve Farmer John. Up in the booth Vinny leaned out and waved to the fans. Problem is no one could hear him. They don't broadcast the games, either in the park or on a local station. The Angels do.
That's the problem with sharing a place I guess. You can't personalize it. Maybe paying Manny necessitated economizing and taking a roommate like the White Sox. Too bad.
