That ****in' blows. I liked Diamond way better than Tony Jackson.
Diamond was definitely the strongest beat writer for the Dodgers and hopefully someone local picks him up to once again cover them. Its sad that the PE decided to give up the Dodgers beat when the team will be the team garnering the most interest after the Laker's season is over. I guess i'll just start reading more of the Dodgers blogs and continue to read tony jackson which i also think is a good dodger beat writer although he lives in phoenix full time and isn't able to cover the team as close during the off season.
I can't wait for the regular season, I dont watch that spring training till late so I can see who makes the cut, I am glad they got O-Dog (Orlando Hudson) from the stories Vinny tells O-Dog sounds like a nice guy.
ITS TIME FOOOR DODGER BASEBALL
"This is for you, Kings players who have EVER worn the Kings uniform, and Kings fans wherever you may be, all the frustration and disappointment of the past is GONE! The 45 year drought is over! The Los Angeles Kings are INDEED, the Kings of the National Hockey League, the 2012 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!" - Bob Miller
"The long wait is over, after 45 years, the Kings can wear their crown! The Los Angeles Kings have won the Stanley Cup!!!" - Nick Nickson
First cuts announced - Inside the DodgersThey weren't surprising. Pitchers Greg Miller and Justin Orenduff were optioned to minor-league camp. Pitchers Jacobo Meque, Yhency Brazoban and Ronald Belisario were reassigned to minor-league camp.
Justin Orenduff DFA'd, Manny added to roster - Inside the DodgersOrenduff didn't pitch well at Vegas last year, going 3-7 with a 6.55 ERA in 21 starts and 10 relief appearances. He made one Cactus League appearance this spring, facing six batters, recording two outs, walking two and giving up two doubles on Feb. 27 against Seattle. He has a good chance of clearing waivers and remaining in the organization.
Dodgers don't sign Mark Sweeney, but they do hire him - Inside the DodgersHe's going to be an ``assistant coach,'' whatever that is. He is also going to be a ``liaison between the Dodgers' advance scout and the club,'' whatever that is. Basically, it sounds like he was just such a good guy that they made up a job for him
Retirement was a good idea. He was terrible last season.
Kuo, Wade close to returning - Inside the DodgersHong-Chih Kuo said he will pitch in a B game tomorrow, his first game action of the spring. Cory Wade will pitch live batting practice today and go from there, but he said the tentative plan is for to make his Cactus League debut on Friday or Saturday. So other than Ivan DeJesus, it looks like the Dodgers are close to being at full strength, No other news so far this morning.
To B or not to B, that is the question - Inside the DodgersI have no idea what that headline means, it just sounded like a cool play on words. Hong-Chih Kuo pitched one inning in a B game against the White Sox this morning, his first actual game appearance of the spring, and did really well.
Just to bump this over the useless threads.
