Schmidt is out of the running. Milton and Vargas were bombed the other day. Weaver and Estes both looking shaky today. Could the 5th starter job come down to Stults, Troncoso and McDonald? Or do they now have to take a more serious look at Pedro?

The Nationals today released starting pitcher Shawn Hill and signed free agent left-handed relief pitcher Joe Beimel to a one-year, $2.0 million deal.

no kidding, hopefully the Dodgers will now pursue Ohman, he'd be a good pick and probably would be around the same amount of money as Beimel. They need another lefty in the bullpen besides Kuo.
