Nick Adenhart, Angels pitcher, killed in Fullerton crash - Los Angeles Times

They have to do something more to control the drinking and driving from downtown Fullerton.

I enjoy going down there and getting smashed as much as the next person but people, if you've had something to drink make sure you have a DD or take a taxi.. the consequences aren't worth it.

This really sucks. That kid was going to be a staff ace too. I see a curse over the Angels this year. A fan died yesterday and part of the stadium fell onto some seats on opening day. Not good signs.

Very sad, RIP.

Unfortunately, this happens to everyday people every day without media coverage.

A drunk person's body is loose and relaxed on impact, allowing it to absorb more. The victims are usually tensed up causing the impact to magnify.

I'm in shock...

Last week I was chatting with him right before he started to warm up for his start against the Cubs at a spring training game in Arizona and now this?

He was a really nice guy, class act all the way, and took time out of his bullpen session to toss a couple signed balls to the little guys.

You know what's even more frustrating, they HAVE cracked down quite a bit there. It's ridiculous.

And this story made me sad.

I'm stunned....

He pitched a great game last night, you couldn't have asked anything more from the kid considering he was facing a strong A's lineup... just 22! My heart sunk when I heard the news this morning, I can't imagine what his family is going through.... RIP kid.
