What's crazy about this whole story to me is that had I not gotten hurt in my hockey game that night (which turned out to be my second hairline fracture in my left leg in a little over a year), I probably would've been there when the crash happened or right after. I stopped at the Del Taco right around midnight (the accident supposedly happened at 12:20) and ate in the parking lot and then went west on Orangethorpe right past the accident sight.
If I don't hurt my ankle in the first period I don't change during the game and I'm there at least 5 minutes longer and probably witness this or the aftermath.
A friend of mine was at the intersection at the time of the crash....here's the message he sent me on myspace this morning...
i was leaving the gym with my cousin when it went down. had i waited in the left hand turning lane for nick's eclipse to pass me, that drunk driver would have nailed both of us. it all happened in a matter of seconds of me making my left turn. I went back after hearing the collision and remember seeing a mangled body ejected from the rear window of the eclipse planted over the trunk. i already knew that person was gone. horrible site.
God Bless the Adenhart, Stewart, Pearson and Wilhite families.
not to the rest of us."I think it's tragic," Gallo's attorney Jacqueline Goodman told reporters outside the courtroom. "I think there's been a miscarriage of justice."

His attorney is an idiot. Was too drunk to realize the result of his actions....oh how about calling a cab or a friend to pick your dumbass up. Enjoy being a guest of the California Penal system for the rest of your life.
Even more pissed off after reading the Register story:
Driver guilty of murder in Adenhart crash | gallo, adenhart - News - The Orange County Register
F you Lilia, you provided the dumbasses with the vehicle knowing he was a chronic drunk and a waste to society.
"He's our son. You have to do what you have to do to defend him," said Gallo's stepmother, Lilia Gallo. "We want the families to know that we are deeply mourning the loss of their children and all the pain they went through."
