Olney, Gammonds, and Stark do have a point and I agree with them on some points. HOWEVER, I'm a selfish prick. So, if Manny's turning it on to get himself a $100,000,000 contract... hey, as long as we ain't buyin, I ain't hatin.

Good read! I would be fine with a 2 year deal for Manny, maybe 18-20 per.

You watch him mash in Chavez Ravine these days, and he looks like a guy who has decided to hit about .700 the rest of the season. But if he really thinks that pushing his "on" button for two months will make teams more interested in handing him $100 million this winter, he might just have it backward.

Turning it on with the Dodgers? Yes, he has been on a nutty streak, but... What are they talking about? Notwithstanding his sitting out of a couple games, did anyone care to check his splits for July with Boston? He batted .347 in the month with a 1.060 OPS. Should he have batted 400 for the month with a 1.400 OPS? Would this be a moot point?

It's great having Manny bat behind Kent... I like that entire lineup actually. We just need to get Furcal back. :\

well you should. his at bat in the 9th counts just as much as one in the first. he's an upgrade with the stick and a downgrade with the glove. probably better than angel overall but not by much. either one is fine to temp for furcal.

I've been Nomar like you Lath but Berroa is so bad that I'm willing to live with Nomar's subpar defense for the chance of one extra base hit a game. Pitchers still have to respect Nomar, Berroa is basically a hole in the lineup.

Nomar's defense hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. He's not great by any means but his outstanding arm makes up for minimal range.
