I remember reading that we were willing to give up Ethier to get Manny.
I'm glad Boston wasn't interested.
However, for as big an Ethier fan that I am (and I truly am, I really really like this guy) he is not at this point "The Man" in the batting order.
He needs a thunderstick behind him in the order to be a real threat. He and Kemp (I'm a big Kemp fan also, dude is nails in CF) need to learn from and quit relying on ManRam to make them better hitters.
I don't know, just something I have been noticing watching the games...
Manny has nothing at all to do with how ****ing awesome Matt Kemp is. I'm sure Kemp has learned from Manny, but it isn't like he completely disappears if Manny goes away like Andre seems to do.

Yea, Kemp did just fine when Manny was serving his suspension
Torre inexplicably bats Kemp 7th/8th...
As bull**** as "lineup protection" already is, when the dude isn't batting anywhere near Manny in the lineup, how would Kemp POSSIBLY be relying on Manny in any fashion to do what he does? Kemp ****in rakes from the 8th hole. Nuff said.
Kershaw looks atrocious tonight. Could be another long night for the bullpen. Down 3-0 to Haren already, not looking good.
