Beltre had a great glove. No way Gagne saves 84 straight without Beltre, Izturis and Cora behind him in that infield. Not the greatest hitters save for Beltre, but defense saves games.

Nowhere near the arm or glove of Adrian but offensively that sounds about right. Although since signing that huge deal in Seattle, Adrian has been pretty Beltre-lite himself.

He's on fire in July... too bad it took him 2 1/2 years to get it going.

No kidding. Where the hell did that come from?

It was a fun year though. I remember listening to Finley's grand slam in the Rose Bowl tailgating area at the XTRA booth. We missed the first 5-10 minutes of the first quarter just to stick around.

Thank God! I couldn't stand him.

Now watch him be a stud for the Yankees...

I can't wait to see LaRoche at 3B, Furcal at SS, Abreu at 2B, and Loney at 1B.

No, he shouldn't have. He had a phenomenal year, but Bonds' season was much better--he set the single-season OBP (.609!!) and OPS (1.422!!!!) record that year.
