I think the emergence of Abreu and LaRoche (hopefully) may have made Betemit expendable. I don't know much about Proctor since he's coming from the AL but I'm guessing he's an upgrade over the 42 year old.

Some of the Yankee fans are sorry to see Proctor go. They wanted to get rid of Kyle Farnsworth, but he has a big contract that nobody wants. Plus he sucks.

Proctor is 30 and his numbers are not too bad. Not too much experience under his belt. I wonder if his upside is as big as Betemit's.

Proctor should help this overworked and banged up bullpen.Betemit has the potential to be a 30HR guy with an average glove but I don't know if he'll ever put it all together to become that player.

A fine deal for both sides.

i don't follow the Dodgers as much as i used to. but in what little i've seen, Betemit struck me as a Beltre-lite... and i was never a really big fan of Adrian's.

I just wanted LaRoche to be our 3B. I'm happy.

    Welcome back, Proctor?

Nowhere near the arm or glove of Adrian but offensively that sounds about right. Although since signing that huge deal in Seattle, Adrian has been pretty Beltre-lite himself.
