    Default Cliff Lee to Philly

Sources: Phils reach agreement for Indians' Lee - FOX Sports on MSN

The Phils just became the team to beat in the NL. Dodgers have to respond if they want a legit shot at the World Series.

Better than them getting Halladay. The Dodgers don't need to do anything stupid. Bills will be fine and Kershaw is turning into a #1. An NLCS starting with Lee/Kershaw and Hamels/Bills matchups is probably a split. I doubt Happ holds up over the entire year and Blanton/Moyer suck. Games 3 and 4 could easily be won by LA wherever they're played.

Its a good move for Philly but they're far from a clear cut favorite to win the NL. With SF's pitching and the Cubs talent they could easily get beat in a short series and not even make it to the NLCS.

I love Bills and Kershaw, but I worry about them going #1 and #2 in a playoff series. Toronto just lost some leverage now that Philly is out of the Halladay market. Though technically they could del for him as well since they didn't use any of the prospects that Toronto wants in the Lee deal.

I do not like the idea of giving up Bills or Kershaw for Halladay. Mainly because you add a #1 while trading one of your current top 2. Philly just added a #1/#2 starter without giving up anyone on the ML roster. That's a brilliant move. Can LA get Halladay for McD, Lindblom, and Bell? I don't think it's enough, even if they add in Elbert. I think Ned needs to exhaust every possible deal with Toronto.

If the deal for Halladay can't be worked out, I say go after Harang and Weathers from Cincy. Harang isn't Doc of course, but he'd be a great addition to the top of the rotation. Weathers helps the pen a little more. And that deal would not require Kershaw or Bills.

Great move by the Phils. They get an ace without surrendering Drabek or Happ

I can only assume that our prospects aren't as good as Philly's? Because I wouldn't have been mad at Flanders for acquiring Lee for nothing but minor leaguers.

The majority of our stud prospects that we've seen in the system the last few years are already up on the big club.
