While it seems like most of you are allergic to the "like" button, I just want to personally say thanks for looking anyway.

I'm glad we did not sign Lee. The Angels starting pitching is not one of their problems. It's the BP and offense. The BP is getting help but the bats are still not any better tho.

Good Anaheim did not use a ton of cash on Lee, even tho having him would be very nice. Btw, Cliff took a pay cut and wants to win a WS ring. He thinks Philly will be his best chance. Too bad the LA teams don't have a real chance of winning anytime soon haha

No one really wants to come here :(

There's so much talk about how he took so much less money, and how badly he wanted to go back to Philly, left a ton on the table, etc.. Sports writers are stumbling over themselves to sing his praises; about how great it is to see someone "follow their heart and not their wallet", but let's not go overboard here.

His deal will likely end up 6 years/$135MM, which is right in line with the Rangers and Yanks offers of 6 years/$138MM. Plus a lot of the Rangers offer was deferred, so the deal in Philly is essentially better than the Texas offer. The Yanks offer did have a 7th year option, so that counts for something. But again, the guy didn't exactly cut a bargain-rate deal here.

Now that Lee didn't sign with the Yankees, I'm hoping Yankees can get Pettite to come back for one more year. His leadership is needed. He can continue to help Hughes and other young pitchers.
