Well, it's "only" $800k so hard to get too worked up over this. As long as they don't walk from Kuroda or Harang over a difference of $1-2 million then this signing is tolerable. He'll likely hit .230, play adequate defense, and in no way make much of an impact postitively or negatively in 2012. But he is from LA and wanted to play for his hometown Dodgers, so at least something good comes from this.
This is just Colletti being Colletti.
I am little concerned about his inexperience in the major leagues.
Off topic a bit but I read a rumor out of Chicago that Matt Garza may possibly be traded. I'd love to see him as the #2 starter. Would Ethier be enough to get him or would the Dodgers need to add somebody else?
