I've never understood baseball contracts. So he signed 5-year deal. As soon as he gets called up, does that mean his contract expires in five years?

Wow, never really thought we had a chance in signing Lee. I guess lots of money and not getting killed playing QB is what got it done.

Lee is going to be a nice boost to the system.

that was a big suprise signing. i kinda thought lee would choose baseball over football considering his athletic career would be longer in a non contact sport, just didn't think he would sign with the dodgers. especially for that much money.

What a performance by Lilly tonight, 2 walks, 2 hits, and 11 K's...CG SHO.

He's been unreal, but unfortunately they've lost more ground since they acquired him (through no fault of his own).

win one, lose one, win one, lose one.

averaging 2 runs a game is no way to make up any ground.

Lilly has just been amazing. He's so Greg Maddux, it's ridiculous. With Kuroda and Padilla both coming off the books this summer, Ned needs to re-up this guy.

yup, I totally agree with you. He even said he'd like to be back next year also.

    from today's LA times

"The trade has worked out so well for both Lilly and the Dodgers that Lilly expressed a desire to return to Los Angeles next season.

"It'd be fun to come back here and win," he said."
