It may sound extreme, but I think the Dodgers should go HARD after Pujols.
Can you imagine AP added to our lineup?
I don't care if "it wouldn't be fair"---I WANT PUJOLS IN DODGER BLUE!!!!!!!!!
So there!!

Money for 7 years for 3 great seasons of a broken down Pujols, or money going to a homegrown staff ace + a perennial MVP candidate in center ??? Hmmm...
I pick door number 2!
Ace and MVP center fielder.
But I'm running out of money because of my bitch wife and Bud Selig is being a pain in my ass!

I agree with you guys in the sense that I would like to have the money to sign Kershaw and Kemp forever BUT Pujols is the best hitter in the MLB. This year alone Pujols missed 40ish games and is still leading the NL in HRs, and is in the top 10 in RBIs, AVG, and OBP and hes got 2 gold gloves. Pujols puts up MVP-like numbers consistently and this is the first year Kemp has done this. Don't get me wrong, I've been a Kemp fan since day one but to say you would pick Kemp over Pujols is a little silly. Pujols is a 3-time MVP who is still at the top of his game, Kemp is just coming into his stride.

As Branch Rickey once said "Trade a player a year too early rather than a year too late." Besides, you can lock up both Kershaw and Kemp instead of Pujols who will break down sooner rather than later. If St. Louis were offered that for Pujols, they'd be stupid not to take it.
Trade Ethier; sign Prince Fielder; win World Series.

There's something about Fielder that scares me. Not sure what it is.
Anythings better than Loney though.
