It seems like Kent has talked about retirement during the last 3-4 seasons. Again, I'm not too worried about our IF utility spot. If Abreu starts, then Lu back up the middle IF. He's supposed to be a magician with the glove, I don't think he would have too much trouble filling in at 3rd or 2nd when needed. Certainly no more trouble than Nomar would have. Plus there's always veteran utilities guys available.

If Torre indeed is going to have some input into personnel, then maybe they are clearing all the players who don't have guaranteed contracts for next year for now? Then Torre and Ned can sit down and shape the roster together.

You don't say much my friend, but when you do it's to the point, and I salute you for it.

Kent can still contribute, he just shouldn't be batting 4th or 5h anymore.

I agree, Loney looks like our best option to protect A-Rod...

Well, any pipe dreams about maybe having Pettite come to LA are pretty much done...

If A-Rod does come(still a pipe dream for me) then I think Kent is fine as the #5 hitter. He's still productive enough to hit behind a big time hitter like A-Rod.

I like Loney batting 3rd personally. I don't think he has enough power(yet) to be a middle of the order power guy. Put him in front of A-Rod and I think he would excel.
