I'm pretty high on LaRoche. I guess you could say that odds are one of our prospects should crash and burn since we've had so many successes, but other than his back troubles I don't really see any knocks on LaRoche. He just needs a chance.
As far as Abreu goes, I'm not that high on him, especially at 3B. His bat makes more sense at 2nd than at 3rd.
Oh he's definitely opting out. He would be a fool not too. I just don't think he'll leave NY. They can him the most and the Yankees give him the best chance at a World Series. He gets bad press but obviously that doesn't affect him. He had what like 150 RBI's this year?Quote:

For us, I think it's pretty clear, it'll be Nomar or LaRoche. And I bet Nomar gets the job, sucks for 2 months before they decide to bench him and LaRoche comes up and tears it up.
I wouldn't go after Lowell. 5 years ago maybe. Lowell now= Mike Blowers. CF next year could be Kemp or Repko. They mentioned moving Pierre to left. Although, I'd stay with Ethier, Pierre and Kemp left to right with Repko and Young as fill ins. Goodbye to Nomar, Seanz, Martinez and Gonzo. If Kent comes back he's welcome. He was solid all year. Plascke's article about trading Kemp is ridiculous! A couple of baserunning mistakes is youth not an attitude problem. The ONLY trade I'd listen to for Kemp would be for Willis and Cabrerra.
This is just silly talk. Lowell is a much, much better player than Blowers ever was offensively and defensively.Quote:

Who is they? Some drunk friend of yours? Moving Pierre doesn't make him suck any less, and if your throwing Repko into the mix that only makes things worse.
Well Nomar is under contract so expect him to back, unless Colletti miraculously trades him to somebody or he get's waived/released. Doesn't seem likely though.Quote:

I've also seen the Pierre to LF scenario discussed. They mention it in this article as well.

Kevin Kennedy the guy on TV? Yea he was in our system for a long time but I don't seem to recall him having a distinguished career as a manager.
His name always comes up. What has he ever done? Does he even want to manage? Seems like he has a pretty nice TV gig.
