According to yahoo sports, the Dodgers and Orioles are discussing a trade involving Bedard and Kemp. Bedard is entering the last year of his contract and is a FA next year.

Hopefully, Ned is using this as a ploy to lower Florida's asking price for Miguel.

Kershaw might be a perennial ace and Kemp might be a perennial all star. Kemp has looked awesome and Kershaw has done nothing but impress but you really never know.

With Miguel Cabrera you do know that he will mash for at least 2 seasons.

I don't understand how people can be totally against this move. Sure we'd give up a lot but we're not getting crap back.

I'm with you on this. Sure, holding onto the kids would be nice. But Miguel Cabrera is one of the top 5 right-handed hitters in the game. Besides A-Rod and Pujols, it's really hard to argue that there is another RH batter as good as Cabrera. Maybe Manny, but he's also more than 10 years older than Miguel.

While losing a couple potential studs is tough, they still are only potential studs. Kemp looked great this year, but even he is no sure thing. Kershaw may well be the next staff ace, but no pitcher who's in AA can ever be called a "sure thing" either.

When ending up with an elite hitter like Miguel Cabrera while giving up only one player from last year's 25 man roster is the worst case scenario, then that's not too bad.

I'm with these two, I wouldn't mind a Kemp/Kershaw/LaRoche for Miggy trade...his numbers are amazing. I also wouldn't mind keeping the kids, either way i'll be content.

Sources: Dodgers lead race for Cabrera

The Angels no longer are the front-runners for Miguel Cabrera.

The Dodgers stand a better chance of acquiring Cabrera from the Marlins, major-league sources say, if they part with outfielder Matt Kemp along with third baseman Andy LaRoche and minor-league left-hander Clayton Kershaw.

I can't wait to start the new LGK thread in 2-3 years titled "Bummed about Clayes".

I'm sure I'll be feeling be quite a bit of buyer's remorse if that trade is made....at least until Miggy provides that desperately needed pop. And unlike Nomar, hopefully his pops reach the warning track.

seriously, I'm more upset about Kershaw rumored going over rather than Kemp.

Your talking as if Miguel Cabrera is some **** player. This isn't exactly Pedro Martinez for Delino DeShields.

Kemp will hit 30-45 home runs a year, Kershaw will be the stud that will leave us shaking our heads, and LaRoche will be a solid 3rd baseman (the likes of Ron Cey) . All this will happen within 3 yrs.

If Ned wants to trade these 3 and be known as just another dumbass Dodger GM, who traded away great talent, then so-be-it.

    Miguel isn't worth all 3.
