so...how does one go about finding tix for this game? There should be plenty right?Quote:
the Dodgers officially announced that their March 29 exhibition game with the Red Sox will be played at the Coliseum.
Dodgers send 3 man contingent including Saito to try and woo Japanese guy.
Loved this tidbit
I think I remember that pitch from Mr. Baseball. Just plain nasty!Quote:
The right-hander is said to throw a mid-90s fastball, slider, forkball and "shuuto," which resembles a reverse slider. Kuroda has a 103-89 record with a 3.69 earned-run average in 11 seasons with the Hiroshima Carp. He had his best season in 2006, when he was 13-6 with a 1.85 ERA.
Matsuzaka's "Gyroball" looks just like an inflated screwball ala Fernando. I can't really see how a slider would reverse. Reverse upward? Weird.
I've never seen this guy pitch. Frankly, I don't care what he throws as long as he keeps his eye on the target. That Okajima no-look **** is just dumb.
Anyway, I read that this guy wants to play on the west coast and his choice would be the Dodgers with Seattle coming in 2nd.
Tidbit from Olney
I don't want any part of Aaron Rowand. This guy seems to get extra credit for being gritty or having heart. All that crap you hear about when people talk up Eckstein or Erstad. He's a better player than those 2 but he's not some stud OF by any means. Signing Pierre was stupid, let's not exacerbate the problem by signing Rowand.Quote:
The Dodgers are expected to make a big play for Aaron Rowand, as well as engage the Athletics in discussions about pitching.
I don't like Rowand already...
BA chat wrap
Sam (Los Angeles): Jim, I see a lot of talk where people include Chad Billingsly in trades the Dodgers will make, but he doesn't seem like a prospect anymore, but an established, very good, big league pitcher, and the Dodgers would be crazy to trade him. Do you agree?
SportsNation Jim Callis: Depends on the deal but I wouldn't want to trade him. It will require some patience, but if I'm the Dodgers, I don't go make a blockbuster deal and give up any of my core young players this year. They have a great nucleus and can contend for a while. Just stop making bad free-agent moves.
Michael (Dallas): Kershaw or any other pitcher in the minors?
SportsNation Jim Callis: Kershaw.
Ryan (PA): Dodgers 3b this year? LaRoche, Nomar, trade/FA signing?
SportsNation Jim Callis: LaRoche if they're smart
Chris (Torrance, CA): Adenhart or Billingsley?
SportsNation Jim Callis: Billingsley.
