I understand that, all I was saying was that not every prospect or player or person is the same, and it's not fair to judge future success or failure on past success or failure.

"Baltimore's prime trade chip, lefty Erik Bedard, ranked third in the American League with 221 strikeouts despite missing all of September with a strained muscle near his rib cage. Bedard is a former Tommy John surgery guy, and some teams have concerns about his durability. But the biggest impediment to a deal is the price of acquiring him. When the Orioles talked to the Dodgers about Bedard, they asked for the same package -- James Loney, Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw -- that Florida is seeking for Miguel Cabrera." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/hotsto...rry&id=3131579

My freshman year out here I went to the game Jackson beat Johnson and I thought he would blossom too. Didn't happen.
    you're right
it's not the best indicator for success, that was more opinion based.

Yes it's all a crap shoot with prospects just as in every sport, but we can't go around being afriad he will blow out his arm or anything like that cause the same can be said abot MCab. He can have a freak career ending injury tomorrow for all we know. Again, originally my point wasn't just about Kershaw. It was about the quantaty AND quality of what it would take to get 1 stud in MCab, Johan or even Bedard. If it was Kershaw and Laroche for any of them then sign me up (still not sure about Bedard though), but I don't want any of them for the kings ransom. It's not worth it.

    Default Dodgers turn down Santana?

It is believed the Twins requested top pitching prospect Clayton Kershaw and outfielder Andre Ethier but were rebuffed by the Dodgers.

Kemp and Kershaw in any package together is too much......period. And then adding LaRoche, sheesh talk about overpaying.

I haven't heard one deal/package, that if I was Ned Colletti, I'd even consider for more than a second.
