No to Cameron. The Dodgers already have 1 overpaid CF taking up a roster spot. They don't need another.

Oh of course. I just wanted to argue that Juan Pierre is among the worst CFs in the world. Mike Cameron isn't much better, but he's certainly no Juan Pierre

First, the rumored offer to Andruw Jones (two years, $32M) is false. It isn't clear whether any offer has been made, but there are strong indications that there hasn't been one. Second, another rumor you might have seen on the web today, that the Dodgers are talking trade with Texas for third baseman Hank Blalock, also is false. According to Dodgers.com, LA Times, and the PE the Dodgers are out of the running for Rowand and Andruw. No offers were made, and Andruw is reported to be looking for a bigger deal than the Angels gave Hunter. While I agree that Jones is a better player than Hunter, Colletti is wise to say no to topping that horrific deal the Angels made. Guess the Angels making a dumb deal did at least screw the Dodgers in a way, so they can be happy about that when Hunter is stealing their money in a couple years.

And if Guillen can get 3 years @ $12 million per from KC, I don't blame Jones for aiming through the roof.

Sounds like the only chance we have is if Jones doesn't find any takers on a Hunter type deal and decides to take a 1 year contract to try and get something big next summer.

Anyone else hearing rumors that the Dodgers are now looking at the Japanese outfielder Fukudome? It would be an interesting idea to take a chance on Fukudome and the pitcher Kuroda. They can probably be had for shorter-term deals...and we wouldn't have to give up any of the kids. Then we could spin Pierre off for bullpen help, bench help, etc.

Fukodome sounds interesting. Not a star player but a solid one.

Colletti said the Dodgers aren't interested in Japanese free-agent outfielder Kosuke Fukudome.
