Ok..... I'd really like to know why Pierre is so hated around here? I'll admit, I didn't follow the Dodgers much since the halfway point of the season, when they were arguably doomed at that point. The guy did lead the team in 07 in the following areas: Runs, Hits, Triples, Stolen Bases, and 10th in strikeouts.

I'm aware he makes some silly plays in the outfield, but with his base stats why wouldn't you want a guy like that on your team ? Bad attitude, locker room cancer? Was there something I missed?

    Flame away !

Those statistical categories you cited are counting stats which need to be put in perspective because he has so many more at-bats than his teammates, because:
    - he plays every single game.
    - he bats leadoff (or 2nd).
    - he rarely walks.

He is terrible at getting on base (and if you have no power, you damn well better get on base well), and his high stolen base count is very much mitigated by how often he gets thrown out.

If he was a .300/.380/.400 hitter, nobody here would complain about him. .293/.331/.353 is one of the worst stat lines for an everyday player in MLB, especially considering he is an outfielder.

This is easy. He prefers to leadoff but his refusal to take a walk has led to a really pathetic OBP. And like Bruin said, if you don't have any power you better get on base. And not to mention he has an arm that's probably worse than the left field ball boy.

And all that other stuff ------hits, stolen bases, triples, runs. Well, if you have close to 700 plate appearances, you better lead in some categories.
