Default Does anyone care if Barry Bonds...

breaks Hank Aaron's home run record of 755? To me it will always be tainted by Bonds use of performance enhancing drugs. Even though he has denied it everyone is almost 100% positive that he did use. It's kind of like McGwire's home run record. It is slightly tainted by his possible involvement with performance enhancing drugs. When people talk about home runs it's still seems to always lead to Babe Ruth, Roger Maris or Hank Aaron. These guys did it with all natural ability and in Aaron's case more so than Maris it was done with the constant threat of serious injury or death to himself or his family and with complete humility. Bonds is the epitome of "Me First".

I truly hopes his fat head explodes or he falls out bed and breaks his hips. Anything that will stop this ungreatful pompus asshoole from breaking the record and tarnishing it and baseball forever.
I am not a big fan of wishing violence on any player but he the one exception maybe someone will "Step up" and go Nancy Kerigan(sp) on his knees

I hope that he gets it, then all of the sudden it is taken from him in a most embarrassing way. which probably won't happen but I can always wish and hope.

What makes it tolerable is that Gayrod is going to break the record and his reign at the top will be shortlived.

Yup. Only 257 homers behind at age 31. If Rodriguez stays healthy and plays another 7-8 years he should catch Bonds no problem. If he plays into his 40's who knows how many bombs the dude will end up with. If he follows Bonds and gets on the juice the guy might hit 1000.

Mason and Ireland asked the same question on their program a couple of months ago. One of the email responses was classic:

"I hope he gets eaten by a shark!" lol...

If Maris has always had an asterisk by his name just because the league changed the number of regular season games, Bonds should have fifty of them next to his.

it sucks that a douchebag ahole like him will break it but it makes me feel better to know that his title as home run king will be short lived. Within 10 years Alex Rodriguez will hit 800. I'm not an A-rod fan but I'd much rather he hold the record than Bonds.
