I remember him playing in the outfield at Chavez ravine as a youngster (him, not me) too.
it's just unfortunate that when he was a Dodger, he couldn't hit Kurt Bevacqua falling out of a boat.
actually, ges, as i recall, he was pretty damn good. showed a ton of potential. then he broke his wrist and never got his groove back. until, of course, he was wearing another team's uniform.
Matt Kemp and his agent definitely took notice of this deal. If Kemp puts up good numbers the next two seasons he'll hit free agency with a better history, similar if not better skill set, and three years younger than Werth. Could be in line for a monster deal. Though if he continues to regress, he'll only be in line for an obnoxious deal.
