I hope so but I probably need a better source than the NY POST.

" .....Torre's calming presence in the clubhouse and dugout. In the Dodgers, Rodriguez will find a club in dire need of a jolt at the plate and in the stands. "

Why do we need a jolt in the stands? are we not drawing enough?

Whoever wrote that line about needing a jolt in the stands is an absolute moron. Los Angeles set ANOTHER attendance record this past season, despite the fact that the team finished the year 82-80.

    http://mlb.mlb.com/news/press_releas...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

The Los Angeles Dodgers, who led the National League in attendance for the fourth consecutive season, set a franchise record for single-season attendance, topping 3.8 million for the first time with 3,857,036. Their total was the fifth-highest in National League history and the highest in the league since 1997. It marked the eighth straight season in which the club's attendance surpassed the previous season's total.

Who was bitching? I was playing Devil's Advocate to all the guys who were counting it as a done deal. A NY Post article hardly makes it that anyhow. And until I see a formal announcement from the Dodgers, it's still just widespread speculation, no matter how inevitable the announcement is.

I don't give a **** if Grady's gone or not. I just think it was kind of a chicken**** way to deal with it on the part of McCourt and Colletti. Business is business, I guess. On the flip side, I'm not sure that Torre will be what this club needs in order to be successful. He will bring a fresh set of strengths and weaknesses. I am not a hater of Torre. I am merely a guy with a "wait-and-see" attitude with this situation. I'll bid Joe welcome and much success in leading my baseball team of choice to a couple World Championships...IF HE INDEED SIGNS. I'll also bid Grady farewell and good luck because I don't think he was all that bad a manager. He certainly was far from the worst manager we've had in the past twenty years.

But if all that counts as "bitching" because it's contrary to your views, okay. Whatever. You're not known for useless posts, Cruz. But I guess everyone's entitled to them periodically.

C'mon now, you were pretty bitchy in your anti-Torre posts.
