Signing their FA's one thing but there is something about trading with the Giants that doesn't seem right. I feel dirty. Peace out LeModo!

I think once we hired their assistant GM, all bets were off.

I have read this three or four times and I'm still trying to figure out what the hell it means.

Has never quite reached potential for some odd reason.

Has always been the player who was on the brink but his lack of pop and defensive struggles have always made him "that speedy player with average game."

    IMO

I'd disagree and say that he very much reached his potential in 2001, 2003, and 2004. Expecting him to ever be any better than that seems silly. He was never expected to have a cannon arm or pop in his bat.

I'd say the biggest disappointment (versus expectations, that is) over his career is his SB%. You wouldn't expect a guy whose entire game is speed to have a sub 75% SB success rate over his career.

I think some people, including myself, saw what he did in 2001 and thought he had an incredible amount of potential. I don't know, call it being blinded by the guy's flash or what have you but I think some of the expectations I had were pretty silly. Expectations that never came to fruition unfortunately and that was my mistake in thinking he was some sort of second coming. I just fell in love with his ability to dominate games with his speed. That's what I can remember about seeing him play in 01 and 03. But, hey, I was young. A kid still playing ball and hockey and thought wheels were everything.

I think that's why I just never complain about Pierre these days. I know what we're getting with him and there's nothing that can be done about it except to just accept it.
