Ethier batting behind Pierre. Umm, Ok? Maybe Grady is hoping Juan-for-5 will get on base and Ethier can knock him in with his power? Sounds great except Pierre doesn't get on base. Pierre should probably be batting 9th with Penny in the lineup and 8th every other day. Well he should be on the bench but we all know Little doesn't have the stones to sit Ned's prized offseason move.

The Cardinals bat their pitcher 8th; why can't Grady?

I assume his reasoning is that Pierre's speed is useless in front of the pitcher's spot. I guess if you HAVE to have the guy in the lineup, that makes sense.

Also, Steve Lyons just named "Orlando Hernandez and El Duque" as brothers. Charley Steiner corrected him that they were "half-brothers." Which is funny, because they're the same person. (Orlando and Livan are half-brothers.)

If the offense keeps doing this poorly, I would love for Grady to nut-up and put Kemp in center, Ethier in right, and Young in left. Pipe dream...I know.
