Wow we got a break on that call.
Should have known better. It didn't matter anyways.
I don't remember ever saying it wasn't important. If you're still referring to Lo Duca, I think a catcher brings more to the game than numbers and is more likely to struggle late in the year. They catch every night, wearing heavy gear through the hot summer, and get the **** kicked out of them with foul tips and bats, etc. A pitcher is in there every five games for about six innings and if he gets on base somebody literally runs out on the field and puts a jacket on him. Not a level comparison.
No doubt.Bad second half or not, the Dodgers also don't sniff the playoffs without Penny last year, and aren't even in the discussion this year.
I didn't bring him up, you did. But he was big the year we had him.And yes, Lima's game was a gem. But he's still not anywhere near a list of the most valuable Dodger pitchers since 1988, which was the point.
True. But ultimately you are judged and remembered by what you do in September and October. You do realize you have to win A LOT of games in April-August for the September games to have a "vibe," right?
JMFP with a nice catch to save a couple runs there.
BTW, this is my first ever Dodger game in HD. Unfortunately it's an ESPN production, but thankfully no Berman or Morgan.
Nomar just got tossed. In HD.
I didn't know we had Shea Hillenbrand.
GIDP, looks like he's going to fit in here nicely.
Thanks Dodgers for making the Kings' off-season just as painful to get through as last season. Scully should just take the rest of the year off. People aren't going to be watching much longer.
"In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully being clairvoyant in 1988.
