Did anybody really feel confident about Proctor pitching to Helton?

Martinez up with the bases loaded. I'm not liking our chances.

Did anybody really feel confident about REM getting a clutch hit?

Neither can I, but he did, so I'm not going to complain about it.

Damn, THAT'S an inspirational win right there. Penny pitching on 3 days rest AND a 8th inning rally. Good ****.

Big 6 game Eastern swing this week.
The man that starts us off? Brett Tomko :(

well at least Bomko doesn't have the pressure of pitching at home...i'm feeling good now, or at least better than last weekend...gotta keep up the faith, especially when you consider the Blue still have 6 games each against the pads and dbacks...Never too late

We'll be fine Tuesday as long as Tomko doesn't serve up the long ball but that's obvious.
If he keeps the Phils to 3 runs or less AND DOESN'T GO BEYOND THE 5TH ****ING INNING, we might escape with a victory. Then we throw Lowe & Bills at em and see if we can't get a little streak going into Shea. I'll be happy with that.
Hopefully we can get some momentum in two road series & beat up on the Nats because depending on how we fare in the next 9 games, the lady and I might take a weekend vacation to SD and see 2 games there. We enjoyed ourselves last time when we took 2 outta 3 (Hoffman's blown save on Friday & the Sunday 15 or 16 inning game). If there's one thing that sucks in this world it's being in San Diego after a Dodgers loss. Those fans are queers. Sure, they've been the top dog in the NL West but what's that gotten them? What WS do they have to speak of?
If we get the bats working vs. Phils and Bombko doesn't derail the little confidence starting to broil with ths team...
If we play the Mets like we have been since last season (minus playoffs)...
If we play the Nats like a contending wildcard team should play a bottom dweller...
and we play the Dirt Mads like a team trying to make up ground in the standings against a team above them... all of a sudden it's September and we're back in the thick of it.
But maybe that's too much optimism and blind inspiration talking.
Here's to blindly hoping our powerless offense starts to heat back up & our pitching doesn't go back in the ****ter!
