I just still don't know about giving pitchers such long term contracts. I'm sure he'll command a Zito-esque contract. Do we want to gamble on an arm for 7 years? Granted, this IS the guy you would want to sign for such a long-term contract but I'm just not confident that it's the wisest way to spend money. Hitters are one thing, pitchers are a completely different story.

    Agree or disagree?

I'd give Santana 7 years in a heartbeat, but he's under contract through 2008. Zito isn't even in Santana's league.

However, I'm much more concerned with our offense (24th in MLB) than our pitching (5th in MLB).

Anyone think the Blue will go after Peavy when he becomes a free agency in 2010?...not too far away

Kershaw returned to form last night:

Clayton Kershaw bounced back with his best outing since being promoted to Jacksonville. Kershaw allowed only two hits in six scoreless innings while striking out eight. It was a lot better result than his previous start when he allowed four runs in four innings. Blake Dewitt homered for the Suns.

Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Bullets are cheap. Life is priceless.

With Tomko pitching, you knew that wasn't going to last long.

Maybe the Dodgers will stop testing Werth's arm...but probably not.
