If Furcal hits next year like he did this year, he's nowhere near worth his pricetag. All glove, no stick infielders are not eight-figure players.

Chin-Lung Hu was the best defensive infielder in our system according to BA in '05, so if he's got a decent stick we can spend that $ elsewhere. .318/.337/.507 in AAA this year ain't bad, though his plate discipline could use some work.

.507 SLG for a shortstop is very impressive.

Is his contract up after next year? If so and he has a bad year, he won't command that much on the open market. And I wouldn't say he's "no-stick" like Alex Cora. Even Izzy got to around 300 for a while.

It's in Vegas, so take it with a grain of salt. Vegas is a launching pad.

He signed a three-year deal before '06. So yes, it's up after next year.

He's still got a pretty decent career record, but he'll be on the wrong side of the hill and I think he'll still command eight figures a year.

Sub-.700 OPS is generally what I would call no-stick. Raffy's teetering around that line right now. Maybe for a shortstop that bar goes lower because there aren't that many stellar hitting shortstops, but at that level of production and salary he is very replaceable.

Izturis' one good year was .288, and for a slap singles hitter that is really not very good. There is a reason all-glove no-stick players are being gradually phased out of baseball--because they aren't very valuable.

Is Jacksonville also a launching pad? He also had a .500+ SLG. But I'm pretty sure CLH will be .450 at best at the MLB level.

Not really, but that's AA so I'm not sure how much of an indicator that is. If CLH was .300/.350/.400 at the MLB level with a great glove the Dodgers and the fans would be more than happy.

Yeah, he was 16. Not sure how that worked, but I'm guessing his being from Puerto Rico was part of it.

I had Kemp, but noticed that ASUCruz came up with a better picture of him, so I'll choose another. Plus I'll defer to Cruz's superior BBS presence (translation: my inner nerd is no match for his).
