    Dodger Preview from Fox Sports

    Organization/management

Maybe it's just a case of bad PR, but the husband-wife ownership tandem of Frank and Jamie McCourt has a reputation for being difficult to work for. Colletti's moves thus far have been a mixed bag and the longer he goes without a postseason victory, the more the pressure will increase in L.A. Torre is bringing in Larry Bowa and Don Mattingly as part of his coaching staff, so there'll be a heavy pinstripe influence at Chavez Ravine.

Yep...December 13, 3004 the White Sox traded Carlos Lee the Brewers for Scott Podsednik (and assorted others.)

2005...Scott Podsednik hits .290, steals 59 bases, is an All-Star and helps lead the White Sox to a World Series Championship by hitting .286 with 3 triples, 2 homers and 6 steals in the post season.

Sounds like the Sox got a pretty good deal to me.

Maenwhile, Milwaukee finishes 81-81 and in third place in 2005. By mid 2006 they are so pleased with Carlos Lee's performance and commitment to staying in Milwaukee (not), they trade him to the Rangers for a closer and couple of never-will-bes.

That's the beauty of baseball, my friends. You need players like JP and Scotty-Pod to play a role on your team. Not every player needs to be a fantasy-league type guy.

Mattingly and Easler have worked with him on the importance of seeing more pitches early in the count.

This lineup is pretty hard to juggle. ****ING PIERRE!
Anyone else concerned we have too many right handed bats in the lineup? 6 right handed hitter vs RHPs? Could have a tough time hitting some RHPs.

Lots of tough RHP in our division might rip through the Dodger lineup. Webb, Haren, Peavy, etc.

I'm not concerned at all. There will always be more right handed hitters than left handed hitters. If you're good you're good. If you suck you suck. I've seen Jones, Kent and Nomar take righties deep plenty of times.

I'm more concerned the Dodgers don't have a lefty in the starting rotation.

And Webb, Haren and Peavy are tough on everybody.

Scott Podsednik is a terrible baseball player. The White Sox won in '05 because their pitching was dominant (4.91 ERA in '04, 3.61 ERA in '05)--their offense was actually MUCH worse than the year before (865 runs in '04, 741 runs in '05). Unless you're trying to tell me Podsednik was the reason their team ERA dropped 1.3 runs per 9 innings, you've got nothing here.

Carlos Lee got traded by Milwaukee because he was an impending FA and the rest of their team was crap.

That's the beauty of logic, my friends. (And actually, Scotty-Pod is a fantasy-league type guy for the SB column.)
