We drafted Price when he was a senior in HS.
This is one pet peeve I have with the Dodgers drafts. I understand the need to be smart with spending money on draft picks. Obviously you don't want to just throw money at every prospect. But we shouldn't abide by the whole slot money thing.Originally Posted by Claw21
The guy I wanted us to draft was Rick Porcello. He was described as being the best HS arm in the draft, and fell because of signability. Signability shouldn't be an issue for us, the money we spent on Shea Hillendbrand could have been used to sign Porcello. I hate that whole slot money thing.
One guy, Alex White, a pitcher we drafted in the Kershaw draft wasn't signed by management. BA projects him to be one of the top arms in college by the time he's able to get drafted again. Just disappointing that he could be under contract right now rather than being at UNC.
