We drafted Price when he was a senior in HS.

This is one pet peeve I have with the Dodgers drafts. I understand the need to be smart with spending money on draft picks. Obviously you don't want to just throw money at every prospect. But we shouldn't abide by the whole slot money thing.

The guy I wanted us to draft was Rick Porcello. He was described as being the best HS arm in the draft, and fell because of signability. Signability shouldn't be an issue for us, the money we spent on Shea Hillendbrand could have been used to sign Porcello. I hate that whole slot money thing.

One guy, Alex White, a pitcher we drafted in the Kershaw draft wasn't signed by management. BA projects him to be one of the top arms in college by the time he's able to get drafted again. Just disappointing that he could be under contract right now rather than being at UNC.

Kyle Blair is another. Taken I believe in the 5th round in 07'. He wanted to sign with the Dodgers but they wouldn't give him the money. He ended up signing a letter of intent with San Diego. From what I've read, he really wanted to sign with the Dodgers.

The Dodgers really have dropped the ball on quite a few talented prospects. Like Asu pointed out, I'd much rather invest money in prospects than waste it on hacks like Hillenbrand, Pierre, and Loaiza.
