That's not a "detail." That's simply your opinion, backed up with no stats. You also simply repeated your same points again without any rebuttal to my previous post.

Mariano Rivera has made a living off of throwing one pitch. It's results that matter. You can have five pitches and still not be half the closer that Broxton is.

You act as if a quick delivery from the mound has nothing to do with throwing runners out.

PURELY HYPOTHETICAL, based on JB's past "performances":
So now you're just making things up. Good to know we're debating on substance here.

I love how you italicize "the stretch," as if Broxton ever pitches from the wind-up.

I seem to recall the Phillies winning a title with Brad Lidge. Byung-Hyun Kim also comes to mind. (I like how you put closer in quotations, though.)

Of course the likelihood is that the Dodgers won't win the World Series (given the small % of that happening in any given year), so you're not exactly going out on a limb there. If you'd have said "The Dodgers will never win a damn thing with Eric Gagne as their closer," you'd still probably be right given the percentages.

And you completely ignored the fact that every closer not named Rivera melted down in a huge game last year in the playoffs. Nobody is thrilled with Broxton's NLCS performances, but what exactly is your better suggestion here? Get rid of one of the better closers in baseball because he isn't Mariano Rivera?

Yeah, he gave up one hit and had 2 Ks in an inning of work where a runner never made it past first base. He sucks.

    Temper the hyperbole a notch.

I snapped a pretty nice shot of Ethier connecting on his walk-off slam at the game on Thursday night:

Ok Hoya, you are sold on Broxton while I'm not.

I'll leave it there and STFU now . I'm stating to bore myself.

Haeger needs to go. The rest of the starters aren't good enough to make up for him be an automatic loss.

Kershaw was dominant today. Could have gotten a shutout but it took him an inning to settle down. Clayton and Kuroda will be good all year, I think Bills will get back on track, and we're ****ed with the 4 and 5 starters. I haven't been following that closely this year, are McDonald and Elbert no longer options?

I can't remember anybody going from being so effective to so useless in such a quick span of time. George Sherrill sucks. On the bright side, Martin has appeared to go from almost useless to kind of productive again.
