Gammons is on ESPN saying that it allegedly isn't a PED that Manny tested positive for. Rather it is a drug that is on the banned list.

Probably but the MLB rules are pretty damn strict. No matter what a player's motives are if you take something that is on that banned list even if its for the flu or something you get suspended.

I think its an automatic thing. I can certainly imagine it. A 50 game suspension is a pretty good deterrent.
